Question of the Week
Gospel Reading Mark 1:12—15
It is the Spirit who drives Jesus out into the desert for forty days, to be tempted by Satan and ministered to by angels and wild beasts. If the Spirit does this it must be good. What could be the good of going out into the desert being beset by temptations? Perhaps before Jesus begins his ministry he needs to experience all that his people experience, to know generic name of neurontin exactly how they feel, and to see exactly the power that Scripture and prayer have over the sly and smarmy words of the Enemy. He needs to take in hand the temptation of Adam and Eve, and to conquer it. After this he will be ready to minister to people the sin-conquering love of his Father.
Question: How can Jesus help me to conquer the temptations that come to me every day?
