As we celebrate this feast of Corpus Christi, a reprise of Holy Thursday, we are invited to join the disciples in hearing Jesus' invitation to receive the bread of Communion and to drink the cup of the new covenant with him. St. Augustine teaches us: "If you want to understand the body of Christ, listen to the apostle telling the faithful, You, though, are the body of Christ and its members (1 Cor 12.27).
    Sermon 272

According to St. Augustine, the Solemnity of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ is our feast day. On this day, like every Sunday, we repeat the celebration that forges our identity and strengthens us to be the very body of Christ that we receive. Jesus let his disciples know that joining him in the celebration of the Passover was an event of communion in his self-giving love. Celebrating the body and blood of Christ always calls us to do what he commanded: to share our lives as he did. When we dare to say "Amen," we proclaim, "Yes, we will receive what we are and be what we eat."
-St. Joseph Sr. Mary M. McGlone

"There is nothing I can give you which you have not; but there is much that, while I cannot give, you can take. No heaven can come to you unless your mind finds rest in it today:

God not only offers forgiveness, reconciliation, and healing, but wants to lift up these gifts as a source of joy for all who witness them. In all three of the parables that Jesus tells to explain why he eats with sinners, God rejoices and invites others to rejoice with him. “Rejoice with me,” the shepherd says, “I have found my sheep that was lost.” “Rejoice with me,” the woman says, “I have found the drachma I lost.” “Rejoice with me,” the father says, “this son of mine was lost and is found.”

All these voices are the voices of God. God does not want to keep his joy to himself. He wants everyone to share in it. God’s joy is the joy of his angels and his saints; it is the joy of all who belong to the Kingdom.

The Trinity is a fundamental belief of the Catholic Church.
The Catechism tells us that "by sending his only Son and the Spirit of Love in the fullness of time, God has revealed his innermost secret: God himself is an eternal exchange of love, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, and he has destined us to share in that exchange.
    ССС 221
The "Glory Be" is a simple but beautiful prayer to say today and every day:
Glory be to Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now, and forever shall be. Amen.

One of the most familiar things we do as Catholics One of the most familiar things we do as Catholics is to make the sign of the cross in the name of The Father, The Son and the Holy Spirit. For Christians this is the name of God, The Trinity. Whenever we pray the Mass we are gathered in that name and at the end we are blessed and sent in that name. We are baptised into the name of Father, Son and Spirit and throughout our lives that threefold name accompanies us, so that all our life is gathered into the communion of love we call the Trinity.
This is no empty ritual, it is the proclamation of the heart of Christian life and faith.
This the prayer of our life.
As we celebrate this feast of Corpus Christi, a re As we celebrate this feast of Corpus Christi, a reprise of Holy Thursday, we are invited to join the disciples in hearing Jesus' invitation to receive the bread of Communion and to drink the cup of the new covenant with him.

This weekend we celebrate the Solemnity of the Mos This weekend we celebrate the Solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity. Perhaps the best way we can celebrate and honor the mystery of God, Father, Son and Spirit, is by actively living a strong faith in the Holy Trinity and in God’s presence and providence, a faith that St Patrick expressed beautifully in his Lorica:
“Christ with me, Christ before me, Christ behind me,
Christ in me, Christ beneath me,
Christ above me,
Christ on my right, Christ on my left,
Christ when I lie down,
Christ when I sit down,
Christ in the heart of everyone who thinks of me,
Christ in the mouth of everyone who speaks of me,
Christ in the eye that sees me,
Christ in the ear that hears me.
I arise today
Through a mighty strength, the invocation of the Trinity,
Through a belief in the Threeness,
Through a confession of the Oneness
Of the Creator of creation”
Amen.
