Question of the Week
Gospel Reading: Mark 6:30—34
Jesus had given his disciples a task that was far out of their comfort zones, and they had been successful. But their success had meant that now people crowded about them all the time, so there was no time to rest. Jesus knew they, and he, needed to rest and rejuvenate. So he took them to a little-known place where they could process what had happened and become reinvigorated.
But crowds of people found them there. And even more important than rest, Jesus knew, was the hunger and thirst for truth that the crowds represented. So he reached out to the crowds and taught them what they longed for.
Question: How do I respond to people who come to me at an inopportune time?
