A parish favorite! Join us for our
MASS OF INCLUSION & BELONGING
We invite people living with disabilities of all ages to participate in various ministries at the Mass, including greeters, readers, singers, altar servers and gift bearers. All of these can be done with a ‘buddy’ or family member as you like.
God has a beautiful plan. In this plan, everyone counts. There is room for all of us. Everyone belongs!
Join us in celebrating the liturgy with no barriers, as one body of Christ.
If you would like to serve at this mass in some capacity, please contact Maria Nagy 703-203-5668

Do not forget that the value and interest of life is not so much to do conspicuous things… as to do ordinary things with the perception of their enormous value”

Beautiful,thoughts.
Jesus weeps
Jesus comes near and he beholds the city
And looks on us with tears in his eyes,
And wells of mercy, streams of love and pity
Flow from the fountain whence all things arise.
He loved us into life and longs to gather
And meet with his beloved face to face
How often has he called, a careful mother,
And wept for our refusals of his grace,
Wept for a world that, weary with its weeping,
Benumbed and stumbling, turns the other way,
Fatigued compassion is already sleeping
Whilst her worst nightmares stalk the light of day.
But we might waken yet, and face those fears,
If we could see ourselves through Jesus' tears.

Saint John Chrysostom was a priest given the nickname Chrysostom - “Golden Mouth” for his preaching. He wrote of the gifts of friendship.
When we think about poverty, we usually think of the poor in material things. But we can have a poverty of spirit, too- hard times, loneliness, heavy worries or illness.
St John Chrystosom said, “With friends, even poverty is pleasant. Words cannot express the joy a friend imparts. It would be better for us that the sun were exhausted than that we should be without friends.”
Take time to thank God for the special friends in your life today.
And remember, He calls us friends.

So much to think about.
As we begin Holy Week this Sunday, our readings take us from the joy and Hosannas of Jesus's triumphant entry into Jerusalem to a profound contemplation of his suffering and death.
In the Gospel of Palm Sunday we hear the Passion narrative of St Matthew, in which Jesus is betrayed, mocked, denied, accused and crucified. His body is laid in the tomb, and a guard is placed to secure it.
This week, may we follow Christ in his Passion, holding each other, and our suffering and tortured world, in prayer. May Mary be with us in this journey and help us understand the value of following the example of her Son in our living and our loving.

Help your unbelief
Can a believer doubt? It can be a relief to learn that a whole school of thought among Catholic theologians asserts that doubt, while seemingly corrosive, can actually bolster faith in the end. Doubt can lead to exploration, which often leads to better understanding, greater clarity, or sometimes simply a willingness to not know, to live without all questions fully answered, leaning into religious practice with an open heart. Most would call that an adult faith. What questions nag at you? Doubt, dig, and remain open to God.
TODAY'S READINGS: Genesis 17:3-9; John 8:51-59. "Amen, amen, I say to you, whoever keeps my word will never see death." #takefiveforfaith
