Come Lord Jesus…
Adoration today, every Wednesday, in the St Francis Chapel, 8:30am-4pm.
#ADVENT PRAYER
by Henri Nouwen
Lord Jesus,
Master of both the light
and the darkness,
send your Holy Spirit
upon our preparations for Christmas.
We who have so much to do
seek quiet spaces
to hear your voice each day.
We who are anxious over many things
look forward to your coming
among us.
We who are blessed in so many ways
long for the complete joy
of your kingdom.
We whose hearts are heavy
seek the joy
of your presence.
We are your people,
walking in darkness,
yet seeking the light.
To you we say,
“Come Lord Jesus!”
Amen.

❤️This! My husband and I have a relatable story. When we moved to Scared Heart we didn’t know many people and within a year we had adopted 2 school aged children (siblings) then within months we were so involved with Sacred Heart because of the open arms of the catechists, priests and then later SHPS teachers. My kids are in their 20s now but I love hearing the babies during mass! Like Father Sheehan says “A quiet church is a dead church” ❤️ Blessings!
So well said and such a great family ❤️
Prayer is the raising of one’s mind and heart to God.

These are the last words we say at Mass before receiving Jesus in the Eucharist..
Gospel of the Day (Matthew 8,5-11)
When Jesus entered Capernaum, a centurion approached him and appealed to him, saying, “Lord, my servant is lying at home paralyzed, suffering dreadfully.” He said to him, “I will come and cure him.”
The centurion said in reply, “Lord, I am not worthy to have you enter under my roof; only say the word and my servant will be healed. For I too am a person subject to authority, with soldiers subject to me. And I say to one, ‘Go,’ and he goes; and to another, ‘Come here,’ and he comes; and to my slave, ‘Do this,’ and he does it.”
When Jesus heard this, he was amazed and said to those following him, “Amen, I say to you, in no one in Israel have I found such faith. I say to you, many will come from the east and the west, and will recline with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob at the banquet in the kingdom of heaven.”

Today begins Advent- the season of preparation for the great Christmas feast.
“To hope, is to welcome this gift that God offers us every day.
To hope is to savor the wonder of being loved, sought,
desired by a God who has not shut Himself away
in His impenetrable heavens
but has made Himself flesh and blood,
history and days, to share our lot.”
—Pope Francis

What do I learn from the leadership Jesus shows? Maybe I see his dignity, his confidence, his fearlessness, his self-knowledge or his sense of direction…?

I prayed remotely 7:30 am livestreams from Carlsbad and appreciate the happy smiles Vicki Sheridan shared while delivering the word and the consistency of father mike Murphy’s positive delivery. Thank you. The alter kids may need to go to bed an hour wallflower next Friday based on their yawns and if a deaconess can teach them how to act for the camera like Vicki does amen. If someone brings a tofu turkey to be blessed instead of bread then we really have a vegan navy seal in the house !
I cannot explain it. I have a bad feeling ever since Trump was elected things are going to get messy in January with peolle divided and protesting. School districts this ninety are going to need to counsel families not USA cotizens so children are not separated from their parents or adoptive sponsors.
