Asking for help is not easy; knowing what you need – even harder.

  • S.N.P.S. is a support group for parents (or primary care givers) of children and adults with special needs.
  • We aim to focus on our needs as parents, not on our children, and concentrate on living in the solution, not the problem.
  • We learn how to live peacefully amidst an often chaotic life, finding a new sense of peace, belonging, freedom and joy.

Our mission is to provide a supportive environment where we can help each other to cope with life as it comes in a positive way, to find acceptance in mutual support and to ease our isolation.

We believe…
Joy shared is a joy multiplied, A sorrow shared is a sorrow divided.

This is a community outreach, supported by the Church but with no motivation other than to accompany one another on this very particular journey we share. The environment is one of trust, confidentiality and mutual support. A person’s spirituality may emerge amidst the struggles and graces shared, but nothing is to be imposed.

Meetings are open to parents and primary care providers of children and adults with special needs. This covers a vast range of situations from a child with mental health issues to a serious/chronic medical condition/syndrome/illness; developmental, physical, or learning disabilities; psychological problems, or children recovering from serious accidents that require extensive long term treatment.

This is a parent focused group.  We do not have any provisions for childcare at this time.
