The Apostle James wrote “Is any among you sick? Let him call for the elders [presbyters] of the Church and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord; and the prayer of faith will save the sick man, and the Lord will raise him up; and if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven.”
This sacrament places the person who is sick in the hands of God, and draws the community together in prayerful support.
Communal anointing of the sick takes place twice a year, during Advent and Lent, at a Saturday morning Mass.
In case of serious illness, contact the Ministry Center at (619) 435-3167 to arrange for reception of the sacrament.
