The Advocate, the Holy Spirit
whom the Father will send in my name --
he will teach you everything
and remind you of all that I told you.

”True faith is one that makes us more charitable, more merciful, more honest and more humane. It moves our hearts to love everyone without counting the cost, without distinction and without preference. It makes us see the other not as an enemy to be overcome, but a brother or sister to be loved, served and helped. It spurs us on to spread, defend and live out the culture of encounter, dialogue, respect and fraternity. It gives us the courage to forgive those who have wronged us, to extend a hand to the fallen, to clothe the naked, to feed the hungry, to visit the imprisoned, to help orphans, to give drink to those who thirst, and to come to the aid of the elderly and those in need. True faith leads us to protect the rights of others with the same zeal and enthusiasm with which we defend our own. Indeed, the more we grow in faith and knowledge, the more we grow in humility and in the awareness of our littleness.”
– Pope Francis

These torch lilies were planted in the prayer garden knowing they would bloom as we celebrate the Easter Season and the gift of the Holy Spirit ❤️🔥

Jesus said to his disciples:
“As the Father loves me, so I also love you.
Remain in my love.
If you keep my commandments, you will remain in my love,
just as I have kept my Father’s commandments
and remain in his love.

“I have told you this so that my joy might be in you
and your joy might be complete.
This is my commandment: love one another as I love you.
No one has greater love than this,
to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.
You are my friends if you do what I command you.
I no longer call you slaves,
because a slave does not know what his master is doing.
I have called you friends,
because I have told you everything I have heard from my Father.
It was not you who chose me, but I who chose you
and appointed you to go and bear fruit that will remain,
so that whatever you ask the Father in my name he may give you.
This I command you: love one another.”

Saints grow and move in silence, not wishing to draw attention or shine the light upon themselves. 💙🙏🏼😇 Beautiful role model.

Jesus said to his disciples:
“Do not let your hearts be troubled.
You have faith in God; have faith also in me.
In my Father’s house there are many dwelling places.
If there were not,
would I have told you that I am going to prepare a place for you?
And if I go and prepare a place for you,
I will come back again and take you to myself,
so that where I am you also may be.

They're repaving the street I live on, Lord,
and though it's only about half done
- it's really a great improvement...

But when we first got word there'd be construction,
heavy machinery and one way traffic
- we all complained (and right away)
of the inconvenience, the interruption,
the late night noise and the backed-up traffic...

We're like this Lord, in many ways:
we want our roads straight and smooth,
clear of bumps and potholes,
plenty of room for passing,
exits: easy-on-and-off,
and toll-free all the way!

But our life's road's a work in progress:
under construction,
in need of repair;
detours and slow downs,
speed traps and tolls,
rush hour traffic and sun in our eyes!

Oh, there are straight-away stretches
where traffic is light,
the road surface smooth
and the lights all green;
where you make good time
and you don't get lost...

But, by and large, we need to be patient,
not surprised when the road crews are out,
but grateful and hopeful for the work in progress
that we might journey another mile,
navigating the bumps and the potholes
making our way around the next bend,
traveling just a day at a time,
until the road brings us home to you...

Amen.
