A Special Prayer for Flood Victims

God of Mercy and Shelter,
In this time of devastation and loss, we lift up our hearts to You.
Be close to all who suffer from the flooding in our communities.
Embrace those who mourn,
shelter the displaced,
strengthen the weary,
and inspire all of us to offer loving assistance to those in need.
Through the intercession of Our Lady of Guadalupe and St. Anthony of Padua,
may our Archdiocese of San Antonio be a beacon of hope and solidarity.
We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.

There’s no such thing as a perfect Catholic…only practicing ones.

That reminder is for us and for our kids. We all stumble. We all grow.
What matters is showing our children that faith isn’t about perfection — it’s about perseverance.

Keep practicing, in every season of life. God’s mercy is big enough for all of us.

Gospel | Matthew 7:15-20
Jesus said to his disciples:
“Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing,
but underneath are ravenous wolves.
By their fruits you will know them.
Do people pick grapes from thornbushes, or figs from thistles?
Just so, every good tree bears good fruit,
and a rotten tree bears bad fruit.
A good tree cannot bear bad fruit,
nor can a rotten tree bear good fruit.
Every tree that does not bear good fruit will be cut down
and thrown into the fire.
So by their fruits you will know them.”

The Solemnity of the Ascension of the Lord isn’t The Solemnity of the Ascension of the Lord isn’t about absence; it’s about presence in a new way.

Just like Christ remains with us through the Spirit, we are reminded that even when our loved ones are out of reach, our prayers, love, and example continue to shape them.

Today, we pray for the grace to let go in love and lead with hope.
