Join us in praying for all those who are celebrating the Sacrament of Confirmation today.
PRAYER FOR CONFIRMATION CANDIDATES:
Lord, You send out Your Spirit to touch the hearts of all people, so that they may believe in You and in Jesus whom You sent.
Look kindly on these candidates for Confirmation as they listen to Your voice. Open their hearts to Your Spirit and bring to fulfilment the good work that You have begun in them.
Through Christ our Lord, Amen.

Mary was the woman open and docile to the voice of the Spirit, the woman who was "hoping against hope." In Mary, the Church sees a "sign of certain hope."
May that same Spirit, who was the intimate source of faith, hope and love animating Mary’s heart, invigorate our own hearts, that we may be people of hope and bearers of Christ to the world. #saturdayswithmary ... See MoreSee Less

Q: If you could wish for one thing to make this region a better place, what would it be?
A: For people to be the living Gospel for all to see and hear, live a God-centered life and express that love for God to one’s neighbors.
The Gospel values are not Catholic values and they’re not Christian values; they are radically human values. - Bishop Brom ... See MoreSee Less
“Often we remain silent when we need to speak. Without words, it is hard to love well. When we say to our parents, children, lovers, or friends: "I love you very much" or "I care for you" or "I think of you often" or "You are my greatest gift," we choose to give life.
It is not always easy to express our love directly in words. But whenever we do, we discover we have offered a blessing that will be long remembered. When a son can say to his father, "Dad, I love you," and when a mother can say to her daughter, "Child, I love you," a whole new blessed place can be opened up, a space where it is good to dwell. Indeed, words have the power to create life."

Connect with creation and Creator
If you have a garden, you might be checking the forecast these days to see if conditions are right for planting. Gardens play an outsize role in the Christian imagination. From the Garden of Eden to the Garden of Gethsemane, key events happen in gardens. For centuries communities of sisters, brothers, and priests have cultivated gardens for food, edification, and connection to a major metaphor for spiritual development. Seek out a patch of green, and whether you plant a seed or enjoy a bloom, connecting with creation will connect you with the Creator.
TODAY'S READINGS: Acts 15:22-31; John 15:12-17. “It was not you who chose me, but I who chose you and appointed you to go and bear fruit that will remain.” #takefiveforfaith ... See MoreSee Less
We need to remember that simple lesson. The Catholic faith is not an ideology. It’s a romance. It’s a love affair with God. We’re a people who believe in Jesus Christ – not the ideas, but the person of Jesus Christ, crucified and risen for our sake purely out of his love for us. And living the Catholic faith should be an experience of gratitude and joy that flows from a daily personal encounter with God’s son and a communal relationship with God’s people.
