God’s mercies are new every morning. In what way do you long for this truth today? Take a moment to pause, think of your specific need for new mercy, breathe, and say the words out loud. 🌱

Love Remembers
[I believe] that after separation certain people continue to be very significant for us in our hearts and through our memories. Remembering them is much more than just thinking of them, because we are making them part of our whole being.
Knowing this experience allows me to live from the deep belief that I have love to offer to people, not only here, but also beyond my short, little life. I am a human being who was loved by God before I was born and whom God will continue to love after I die. This brief lifetime is my opportunity to receive love, deepen love, grow in love, and give love. When I die love continues to be active, and from full communion with God I am present by love to those I leave behind. -Henri Nouwen

LENTEN WEEKDAY
Sisters act
How fitting that the first day of Catholic Sisters Week is also International Women’s Day, celebrating achievements of women in politics, culture, and society. Catholic sisters have been making the world a better place for centuries! By teaching children, healing the sick, fighting injustice, promoting peace, defending the planet, creating community, and empowering other women, Catholic sisters are a powerful gospel witness—and many of us have been on the receiving end of their work and prayers. Celebrate sisters this week—find information and resources at catholicsistersweek.org.

Psalm 42
As the hind longs for the running waters,
so my soul longs for you, O God.
Athirst is my soul for God, the living God.
When shall I go and behold the face of God?
Send forth your light and your fidelity;
they shall lead me on
And bring me to your holy mountain,
to your dwelling-place.
Then will I go in to the altar of God,
the God of my gladness and joy;
Then will I give you thanks upon the harp,
O God, my God!
Athirst is my soul for the living God.
When shall I go and behold the face of God?

Where does the journey of peace begin? From the decision not to have enemies. Anyone who believes in God, has no enemies to fight. He or she has only one enemy to face, one that stands at the door of the heart and knocks to enter: it is hatred. -Pope Francis. #ApostolicJourney #iraq @franciscus ... See MoreSee Less
Jesus answered and said to them,
“Destroy this temple and in three days I will raise it up.”
The Jews said,
“This temple has been under construction for forty-six years,
and you will raise it up in three days?”
But he was speaking about the temple of his body.
Therefore, when he was raised from the dead,
his disciples remembered that he had said this,
and they came to believe the Scripture
and the word Jesus had spoken.

A LENTEN PRAYER FOR SPIRITUAL COMMUNION
My Jesus,
As I journey through these 40 days
and meditate on Your sacrificial love for us all
I entrust my ways to Your mercy,
a mercy that seeks the healing of my heart,
and is loving me to the hidden wholeness
found only in You.
I love You, and want to grow ever closer to you.
I want to receive You into my soul.
I long to receive you at the table of the Eucharist,
where I believe you are truly present in the most holy sacrament.
But since I cannot at this moment receive You sacramentally,
come spiritually into my heart, where
I embrace You and I unite myself wholly to You.
Never let me to be separated from You.
Keep me close in your Sacred Heart.
Jesus, I trust in you.
Amen

“Let us entrust to her intercession the daily prayer for peace, especially in places where the senseless logic of violence is most ferocious; so that all people may be convinced that in this world we must help each other, as brothers and sisters, to build the civilization of love."
