Each truss is doubled-up glulams sandwiching 6×6 HSS connectors. Connectors are thru-bolted with 1” diameter bolts.
Bottom chords are pretty much done. They are working on the top chord, web members are tube steel, which will be welded to the gusset “knife” places.
For reference, these are premium grade doug-fir glulams (the highest visual grade), they’ll be clear finished.
Sunday’s Gospel
Jesus went across the Sea of Galilee.
A large crowd followed him,
because they saw the signs he was performing on the sick.
Jesus went up on the mountain,
and there he sat down with his disciples.
The Jewish feast of Passover was near.
When Jesus raised his eyes
and saw that a large crowd was coming to him,
he said to Philip,
“Where can we buy enough food for them to eat?”
He said this to test him,
because he himself knew what he was going to do.
Philip answered him,
“Two hundred days’ wages worth of food would not be enough
for each of them to have a little.”
One of his disciples,
Andrew, the brother of Simon Peter, said to him,
“There is a boy here who has five barley loaves and two fish;
but what good are these for so many?”
Jesus said, “Have the people recline.”
Now there was a great deal of grass in that place.
So the men reclined, about five thousand in number.
Then Jesus took the loaves, gave thanks,
and distributed them to those who were reclining,
and also as much of the fish as they wanted.
When they had had their fill, he said to his disciples,
“Gather the fragments left over,
so that nothing will be wasted.”
So they collected them,
and filled twelve wicker baskets with fragments
from the five barley loaves
that had been more than they could eat.
When the people saw the sign he had done, they said,
“This is truly the Prophet, the one who is to come into the world.”
Since Jesus knew that they were going to come and carry him off
to make him king,
he withdrew again to the mountain alone.
This week then, I might pray that all those who hunger for food and for God may be satisfied. I also ask the Lord to help me give generously when I come across people in need, and to find ways of working towards greater unity and peace.

Happy Feast Day St. James, Apostle 🙏🏼
Saint James, also known as the Apostle James or James the Greater, was one of Jesus Christ’s 12 disciples. Along with his brother John and the Apostle Peter, James was a member of Jesus’ inner circle, and he witnessed major events the other disciples weren’t present for (such as the Transfiguration).
James was the first apostle to be martyred, and he’s the only disciple besides Judas whose death is recorded in the Bible (Acts 12:2).
In spite of being one of the “sons of thunder”, James initially didn’t have much success when it came to preaching the Gospel. He struggled. And had little to show for it. So what happens to many of us, happened to this great apostle. He was beyond discouraged.
ST JAMES AND OUR LADY OF THE PILLAR
James was in trouble, so Mary went to encourage him. This was the first recorded Marian apparition, appearing on a pillar by the river and it’s a wonderful story of her mother’s heart for the apostles. What she was for them, she is for each of us. And once in awhile we’re more like James than we realize. Tired, discouraged, struggling, far from home…loving Jesus but not sure of the next step.
After this encounter St. James constructed what is known as the first Christian Church/Shrine in the entire world; today known as Basílica de Nuestra Señora del Pilar in Zaragoza. And his ministry flourished.
ST JAMES, PATRON OF PILGRIMS
St. James continues to draw people to Christ even after his death - he was martyred 44 AD in Judea by King Herod and his remains were brought to Santiago, named after St. James, and are entombed in the Cathedral Santiago de Compostela which means St James Field of Stars. Since the middle ages, many faithful undertook a walking pilgrimage to St. James tomb, and pilgrims continue to walk the Camino, the Way of St. James, to this day.
Saint James, the patron of pilgrims, intimately understands the fears and difficulties of life in pursuit of the way.
So, if you happen to be a discouraged apostle, don’t worry. You’re in good company…keep the faith and keep walking the way! St. James, pray for us.

Gospel of the Day - Saint Matthew 13:1-9
On that day, Jesus went out of the house and sat down by the sea. Such large crowds gathered around Him that He got into a boat and sat down, and the whole crowd stood along the shore.
And He spoke to them at length in parables, saying: “A sower went out to sow. And as he sowed, some seed fell on the path, and birds came and ate it up. Some fell on rocky ground, where it had little soil. It sprang up at once because the soil was not deep, and when the sun rose it was scorched, and it withered for lack of roots.
Some seed fell among thorns, and the thorns grew up and choked it.
“But some seed fell on rich soil, and produced fruit, a hundred or sixty or thirtyfold. Whoever has ears ought to hear.”

Gooooooood Morning Coronado! (Said like robin Williams did in “good morning Vietnam”) Make it a great one. I am planning for Thanksgiving. My mom and I cannot stand the women’s labor historically linked to the cooking and the men sitting around drinking beer watching football. I betcha father joes village could get a food truck to Coronado thanksgiving so there is not socio economic housing discrimination and with a permit there could be a meal at Spreckles park. Of rain the gazebo suffices. One day at a time. Carlsbad saint Patrick’s bulletin publishes their monthly income and expenditures and they spent more June than what they made. Sigh. What can the csrhlic churches do today to make some Mula so the priests have air conditioning to plan for thanksgiving charities? The rock church took my idea to recycle. The $ from recycling water bottles say after the knights of Columbus October fest could pay the wi fi bill
