Question of the Week
Gospel Reading: Mark 9:38—43, 45, 47—48
All people who are doing good in the name of Christ are part of the Body of Christ, Jesus says, and we also must be part of his Body, in action, not just in words. So if what we do habitually is opposed to the way of Christ, he tells us to CUT IT OUT. He uses language strong enough to make us cringe: “If your hand causes you to sin, cut it off!” Do we take his warning seriously? Or do we assume that we are shoo-ins for heaven?
Question: What habits do I have that are probably not heaven-worthy? What would it take to cut them out of my life?
