March 1 at Sacred Heart Coronado!
Based on the scriptural words of Mary - a good start as Lent approaches! Mary only speaks in 4 passages from scripture yet I have found them appropriate for the whole of the spirituall life.
We reflected on the first two passages at the parish Advent Dinner (the Annunciation and the Visitation/Magnificat)
For this we will consider The Finding of Jesus in the Temple and the Wedding Feast of Cana (March 5 is Ash Wednesday) Yummy breakfast and mini mary garden craft too! Even a “garden” option you cannot kill 😉
Would be great to see you, if you can make it!

Prayer is less a matter of searching for God than of allowing oneself to be found by Him in all of life’s situations.

Happy feast of St. Scholastica! Twin sister of St. Benedict, she dedicated her life to God at an early age then followed her brother into monastic life, establishing the Benedictine order for women. Did you know that she is invoked against storms and rain because on one occasion she called upon God to prolong Benedict’s visit at her abbey, and a torrential downpour ensued preventing his departure? St. Scholastica, pray for us!

Families serving at Sacred Heart!
Children preparing for First Holy Communion and their families are ask to participate at a Mass of their choosing by “taking up the gifts”, a meaningful part of the liturgy/Mass as it emphasizes the communal and participatory nature of the Eucharistic celebration by the faithful parishioners.
Our youth preparing for Confirmation participate in parish life by serving Coffee & Donuts on Sunday mornings. Feel free to give our youth encouragement as you enjoy your Sunday donut.
