Where does the journey of peace begin? From the decision not to have enemies. Anyone who believes in God, has no enemies to fight. He or she has only one enemy to face, one that stands at the door of the heart and knocks to enter: it is hatred. -Pope Francis. #ApostolicJourney #iraq @franciscus ... See MoreSee Less
Jesus answered and said to them,
“Destroy this temple and in three days I will raise it up.”
The Jews said,
“This temple has been under construction for forty-six years,
and you will raise it up in three days?”
But he was speaking about the temple of his body.
Therefore, when he was raised from the dead,
his disciples remembered that he had said this,
and they came to believe the Scripture
and the word Jesus had spoken.

A LENTEN PRAYER FOR SPIRITUAL COMMUNION
As I journey through these 40 days
and meditate on Your sacrificial love for us all
I entrust my ways to Your mercy,
a mercy that seeks the healing of my heart,
and is loving me to the hidden wholeness
found only in You.
I love You, and want to grow ever closer to you.
I want to receive You into my soul.
I long to receive you at the table of the Eucharist,
where I believe you are truly present in the most holy sacrament.
But since I cannot at this moment receive You sacramentally,
come spiritually into my heart, where
I embrace You and I unite myself wholly to You.
Never let me to be separated from You.
Keep me close in your Sacred Heart.
Jesus, I trust in you.

“Let us entrust to her intercession the daily prayer for peace, especially in places where the senseless logic of violence is most ferocious; so that all people may be convinced that in this world we must help each other, as brothers and sisters, to build the civilization of love."

Sibling rivalry of biblical proportions
The Parable of the Prodigal Son could as easily be called the Parable of the Bitter Brother. The story might have ended with the celebration at the return of the repentant prodigal. But instead we are left to ponder the feelings of the “good son,” the obedient one who followed all the rules but never got a party thrown in his honor. It’s a very human story, reenacted in nearly every family in one form or another. “Mother always liked you best.” “You were Dad’s favorite.” “All we ever did was bail you out of trouble.” Will the bitter brother in the gospel story reconcile? Has bitterness or division in your own family been reconciled? Consider being the reconciler who brings it about.
TODAY'S READINGS: Micah 7:14-15, 18-20 Luke 15:1-3, 11-32. “Look, all these years I served you and not once did I disobey your orders yet you never gave me even a young goat to feast on with my friends.”

‘My son, you are here with me always;
everything I have is yours.
But now we must celebrate and rejoice,
because your brother was dead and has come to life again;
he was lost and has been found.’”
