Welcome to Sacred Heart, Kyle!

This weekend, Sacred Heart welcomes seminarian Kyle Schanzenbach. Kyle will live at Sacred Heart for his pastoral year. He will experience the many aspects of ministry at Sacred Heart as he continues to discern a vocation to the priesthood. Kyle is a native to San Diego who grew up in Oceanside/Vista. He is the oldest of six children (four boys and two girls) with two amazing parents who, by example, have passed on their faith to all their kids. The entire family is musically inclined (collectively covering over a dozen instruments) and also love acting onstage (recently passing their 50th show collectively).

Kyle grew up Catholic. He went on a missionary trip with NET ministries just out of High School and then pursued his general education at Palomar College. In 2016, through a series of events, he felt the Lord calling him to discern the priesthood. Kyle was accepted into the seminary in 2018, completed his Bachelors in Philosophy in 2021, and is working towards finishing a Masters in Theological Studies with his potential ordination date being June of 2025. When he doesn’t have his nose in a book, Kyle can generally be found outside (often with a book anyway), with his favorite place being the beach. He will love Coronado!
